Manta Rays: A Presentation and Discussion with Dr. Andrew Marshall

Please join us and your friends from NCRD for an informal gathering with Dr. Andrea Marshall at our home in Palo Alto. Dr Marshall, is one of the world’s leading researchers of manta rays. 

She was the subject of a BBC special in England, earned her PhD in Australia and currently heads a research center in Mozambique. Her presentation will tell us about her research on mantas and sharks throughout the world, and includes their mating, feeding, social behaviors, as well as their vulnerability.

Dr. Marshall recently returned from an extended research trip to Ecuador, where she studied the largest known aggregation of giant mantas. (Manta Birostris- 20-25 feet wide and up to 3,000 pounds)
